UvA starts with an Advanced Master’s in Technology Governance
26 January 2024
The core of the programme is the emerging European technology regulation framework from the AI act to the Digital Services Act. But we also know that law may not be the easiest, most powerful, or even the most effective instrument to regulate how platforms, AI or social media impact our lives and societies. Therefore the programme goes beyond the law and teaches students how the legal instruments work together with non-legal forces that govern technology: markets, technology design, institutions, politics. So students can make an impact on society, economy and culture.
Complex techno-social systems permeate our private lives and societies. Technology governance requires a 360-degree, responsive, research based, multidisciplinary approach. This is exactly what we are offering!Dr. Balázs Bodó, Programme Director Technology Governance, UvA
